Jemimah Rodrigues defeated the competition from skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Pratika Rawal to win the coveted Impact Fielder of the Series medal. Notably, India Women defeated West Indies Women in the third and final ODI on Friday, December 27, in Vadodara.
Under the leadership of Harmanpreet, the Women in Blue whitewashed the Windies in the three-match series. During the series, the young Indian contingent produced some spectacular fielding efforts. Jemimah, who is one of the safest fielders in the Indian women’s team took five catches and inflicted a runout, received the award from her teammate, Minnu Mani.
After receiving the award, Jemimah Rodrigues shared the medal with her skipper who held on to four catches including an on-handed blinder in the opening game to dismiss Aliyaah Alleyne. In his customary speech, fielding coach Munish Bali lauded the players for their efforts on the field. He stated that out of 22 catches the side managed to grab on to 19 of them successfully.

Besides, Bali also hoped that in the next series, should target to take 100% of catches. The hosts during the whole series were always on the front and never let the visitors make a comeback in the series.

Speaking of the third and the final ODI game, India once again displayed brilliant bowling efforts as they dismissed the opposition for 162 runs, thanks to Deepti Sharma’s six-fer and Renuka Singh’s four-wicket haul. Later in the chase, the side struggled a bit with the bat after losing some quick wickets, but partnerships in the middle helped them to chase down the target with ease and win the game.
