Star pacer Jasprit Bumrah met Micah Parson, the Dallas Cowboys backliner, ahead of India’s (IND) upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 clash against United States of America (USA) in New York. The two iconic athletes tried their hand at each other’s sports and also exchanged jerseys.
The National Football League (NFL), which is among the most-watched sports leagues in the world, posted a picture of Micah trying his hand at batting and bowling, while Bumrah played some football with the NFL stalwart. In the pictures, the Indian pacer was also seen giving some cricket tips to the 25-year-old.
“Going for 6! Football Cricket @_micahparsons11 and cricket superstar @jaspritb1 met up to play each other’s sports,” NFL wrote in the caption of their post on Instagram.
Notably, this wasn’t the first interaction between cricket and the NFL during the ongoing T20 World Cup, which is being jointly hosted by the West Indies and the USA. Earlier, the BCCI secretary Jay Shah visited the National Football League headquarters in New York and met the NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell. Shah presented a helmet emblematic of American football, adorned with the crest of Team India and the Indian flag at the back. Additionally, the video showcased the Indian jersey worn by the Men in Blue in the World Cup, featuring Goodell’s name and the jersey number “10”.

India face USA in crucial Group A T20 World Cup clash
Team India might be entering their clash against USA at the Nassau Cricket Stadium, on Wednesday, June 12, as the overwhelming favourites but they would be wary of the grittiness the Monank Patel-led side has shown so far in the tournament.
Rohit Sharma and Co. are coming into this clash on the back of consecutive wins against Ireland and Pakistan. Meanwhile, the USA have defeated Canada and Pakistan in their two matches so far. Whichever team wins on Wednesday will book their place in the Super Eight stage of the tournament.
The United States are making their maiden T20 World Cup appearance. They have already made the headlines after beating the Men in Green and would want to continue their dream run in the tournament. However, beating a star-studded Indian side is going to be a monumental task.
