India Women are in roaring form after whitewashing Ireland women at home in the three-match ODI series. All three games were held at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot. They started with a six-wicket win in the first ODI, they followed it up with a 116-run win in the second and the third ODI was batting mayhem as they posted the fourth-highest ODI total in ODIs.

With a clinical bowling effort, they recorded the biggest victory by a margin of runs in ODIs, outclassing the tourists by a whopping 304 runs. While Ireland were sloppy in the field and their fielding was poor with lots of dropped chances, India were the opposite in the approach. The customary fielding medal at the end of the series was presented to Deepti Sharma as Jemimah Rodrigues did the honours.

I’m really pleased that all the girls got a good game-time: Mandhana

Speaking of India women’s performance, the run chart was dominated by the newcomer Pratika Rawal. She scored 310 runs in three games at an astounding average of 103.33 at a strike rate of 108.39. When it comes to bowling, Deepti was in sound touch picking seven wickets in three games at an average of 15 and conceded just 105 runs bowling almost 180 balls.

“(On the positives from this series) I’m really pleased that all the girls got a good game time. As much as you do it in the nets, going out there and scoring runs matters the most. The 100s and 50s from the batters have been really good. I’m happy for them and the bowlers also executed their plans well. Near a perfect game for sure, winning the toss and going into bat and scoring 400-plus is a really good achievement. One thing is that I told the bowlers to bowl them out in the 31st over and they achieved that,” said Smriti Mandhana after the game.
