A controversial moment took place in the CPL (Caribbean Premier League) 2024 clash between Trinbago Knight Riders and Antigua & Barbuda Falcons as veteran West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard could not keep his calm during the game.
Knight Riders came in to bat first after losing the toss, and managed to post a total of 134, with Pollard being the star with the bat, scoring 47 off 37. The controversial moment occurred during the second innings when Imad Wasim came out to bat. The left-handr was beaten by Sunil Narine on the very first delivery, leading the Knight Riders to appeal for an LBW. However, the umpire ruled him not out.
Skipper Pollard then challenged the decision through DRS and despite the replays showing the ball hitting the bat, the third umpire overturned the on-field not out decision to out, leaving Imad furious and confused. Ultimately, he started to walk back to the dressing room. However, the umpires had another look at the event and the Pakistan batter was recalled. This prompted a protest from the Knight Riders, leading to even more chaos on the field.

After it was decided that Wasim would carry on, Pollard argued furiously with the umpire since he was upset about the fact that Wasim was recalled after leaving the field, something that TKR coach Phil Simmons said to the fourth umpire as well.
In the end, Wasim continued to bat and scored an unbeaten 36 off 27, helping the Falcons win the game by six wickets. Meanwhile, Pollard avoided to comment on the matter later in the post-match presentation. “If I speak, I’m getting into trouble so I would stay diplomatic,” he said.
