The Paris Olympics 2024 are all set to start on July 26th, and the athletes from India hold the hopes of billions of fans from the country. Ahead of the event, star India batter Virat Kohli has come forward and wished the athletes luck for the mega event.

In a clip shared on Kohli’s official X account, the star batter gave his best wishes. In the clip, he shared his thoughts about what used to be preconceived notions about India as a country and how sport has played a big role in changing that mindset.

“There was a time when the world knew India as a country of snake charmers and elephants but it is not so anymore. Now we are the world’s largest democracy and a hub of information technology. We are known for cricket and Bollywood, start-up unicorns and a rapidly growing economy. Now what will be the next big thing for this great country? When we win more and more gold, silver and bronze medals,” Kohli said in the clip.
