MCC Weekdays Bash XIX final match between Aerovisa Cricket and Rabdan Cricket Club grabbed the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. On the final ball of the 13th over, Kashif Muhammad was dismissed LBW (Leg before wicket) for eight runs off 15 balls by Nasir Ali. The bowler broke into an animated celebration and looked agitated after picking the wicket.
The celebration was deliberate enough to trigger the batter. As a result, Kashif got embroiled in a physical fight with the bowler as visible in the viral video. However, things did not just stop there. As the altercation grew intense, fellow teammates seemingly got involved as well and umpires intervened to separate the players in question. The video of the incident has been going viral on social media.

Fight broke out in Celebrity Cricket League in Bangladesh last year
Notably, this was not the first instance of players getting physically involved in a fight during a cricket match. During the Celebrity Cricket League game in Bangladesh, last year, a similar incident took place. The fight occurred over a dispute about the umpire’s decision and was followed by severe chaos. The gravity of the incident was so much so that the organisers had to call off the league. The league had not even entered the knockout stages.
In international cricket one particular instance which went as far as a near physical fight was during an Asia Cup 2022 game between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Afghanistan bowler Fareed Ahmed had claimed the wicket of Asif Ali and was celebrating adjacent to walking Ali. The two players were involved in chest pushing and ICC charged the duo 25 percent of match fees for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct.
