Bangladesh created history by defeating Pakistan for the first time in Tests during the recently concluded red-ball tour. They did so by whitewashing the hosts by 2-0 amidst growing political tensions back home. The team is bracing for the impending two Tests and three white-ball games tour to India. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on September 14 handed the winning bonus to the team.

Bangladesh won the first Test comprehensively by 10 wickets and clinched victory from the jaws of defeat in another. The visitors were reduced to 26/6 in the first innings and, ironically, the team won the game eventually by six wickets. BCB, who found its new president owing to a political shift in the country, took a moment to appreciate the players’ efforts. Asif Mahmud, Advisor to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and BCB president Faruque Ahmed also made their presence felt.

Asif Mahmud, Advisor to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and BCB president Faruque Ahmed were present at the occasion,” BCB wrote in its post on ‘X’.
