The animosity between the two sides has been palpable, with Mohammed Siraj and Marnus Labuschagne hoggling the limelight since the second Test in Adelaide. On Day 1 of the Boxing Day Test, Virat Kohli shoulder-bumped Sam Konstas and was subsequently handed a fine of 20 per cent of his match fee and one demerit point.
A popular Australian newspaper described Kohli as ‘Clown Kohli’ after this incident. The same newspaper also called Rohit a ‘Captain Cry Baby’. Therefore, the tension hasn’t stayed only within the confines of the picturesque stadiums in Australia.
