India B took on India in the Duleep Trophy 2024 game at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium from September 5 to 8. On the Day of the match, India B was chasing the target of 275. India A skipper, Abhimanyu Easwaran, and wicketkeeper, Rishabh Pant entered a puzzled situation over a DRS call which turned out to be out of favor.
Shivam Dube had just entered the crease, facing his eighth delivery. Mukesh Kumar bowled a fuller delivery angling away over the stumps to Dube. The ball seemed missing the leg but the bowler was persistent in going for a review. Pant was disinterested but Easwaran was taken in by bowler’s demand and went for a review. The DRS showed the ball missing the leg by a foot-size distance.
Here’s the video of Pant, Easwaran’s disagreement:

Musheer Khan leads the way for India B
Though the DRS did not go in his favor, Mukesh went on to pick two wickets conceding 50 runs in 10 overs. Other than him, Yash Dayal was impressive with his three wickets and Navdeep Saini chipped in with two scalps. India A were bundled out for 198 runs batting for 53 overs and India B won the game by 76 runs.
The key aspect of India B’s victory was Musheer Khan’s 181-run knock in the first innings. The team was teetering at 94 for seven and with Musheer, who came one down, waging a lone battle. He eventually walked back dragging his team to a total of 300, facing 373 balls. He was well assisted by Saini, contributing a crucial 56 off 144 batting at number nine.
India B will next take on India D at the ACA ADCA Ground in Anantapur on September 19.
