Former Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram rated Karachi Biryani over Hyderabadi Biryani in a recent discussion. In a panel where Shoaib Malik also marked his presence, Akram turned in a light tone while vouching for Biryani from his nation being second to none. The legendary cricketer began by requesting Indian friends to not get offended with his opinion but added that there is no match for Karachi Biryani.
While boasting of Karachi Biryani, Akram added that its Hyderabad counterpart is relatively dry with coloured rice and chicken/mutton pieces. The former pacer added that while Malik would have had the pleasure of indulging in Hyderabad’s delicacy more than him, he can surely call Karachi’s Biryani the best due to several factors. To add to Akram’s claim, Malik stated that spices completely get settled at the bottom in Hyderabad’s Biryani as both the cricketers burst into laughter after it.
The discussion over Biryani has become the talk of the town ever since the Pakistan cricket team landed in India (Hyderabad) and has been receiving top-notch welcome at all venues. To add to the hospitality, the Pakistan cricketers were treated with ample world-famous Hyderabad Biryani and they have been appreciative of all the warmth received so far in India.

The discussion over Hyderabad’s Biryani came into further limelight after Ravi Shastri asked Babar Azam how he has been liking the dish after coming to India. The question popped up when all 10 captains sat for the World Cup 2023 Captain’s Round Table on Wednesday, October 04.
“Babar Biryani kaisa tha (How was the Biryani?),” asked Ravi Shastri. “I’ve already told 100 times. It was good, I had heard that Hyderabad’s Biryani is good and we loved it,” replied Babar.
As for on-field developments, Pakistan are set to begin proceedings for WC 2023 with a clash against Netherlands on October 6 in Hyderabad. The Men in Green move into the tournament after losing both their warm-up fixtures.
