It was a busy Sunday in England with the latest round of fixtures in the Vitality T20 Blast 2024. A total of six matches were played across the South and North Group as teams clamored to move up the table and book themselves a place in the finals weekend which is set to take place in August.

In one of the earliest matches of the day, Durham overcame Lancashire in a close encounter at home in Chester-Le-Street. The margin of win was mere 2 runs as the hosts climbed to 5th in the table while Lancashire are firmly at the top of the North Group.

Northamptonshire traveled to New Road and claimed an easy 11-run win over the hosts. That result in the North Group meant that, Northamptonshire are now 4th in the table while Worcestershire are second from bottom in the group,

In the South Group, Somerset kept their place at the top of the table safe by hammering Glamorgan by a massive margin of 108 runs. This thumping will have a huge effect on Glamorgan in the long run as their run-rate has taken a huge beating.

Meanwhile back in the North Group, a win over Yorkshire meant that Leicestershire have climbed to third in the table. The 20-run win was crucial as the top seven teams are just four points adrift of each other.

Sam Billings and his Kent side lost yet another game in the season to be still at four points. The side from Cantebury were easily defeated Gloucestershire by nine wickets in a one-sided encounter. Kent remained in the bottom places of the South Group table to mount more agony on themselves.

The final game on Sunday in the North Group saw Derbyshire stay in sixth place in the table post their seven-wicket loss to Warwickshire. It was a timely win for the Warwickshire side as they were wanted to keep pace with the leading pack in the group table.
