Vitality T20 Blast 2024 featured two matches on Saturday (June 15), but one ended without a result due to rain. The match between North Group members Nottinghamshire and Durham at Trent Bridge in Nottingham was abandoned midway through the first innings.
Durham openers Graham Clark and Alex Lees made a solid start to their innings after being asked to bat first. The duo added 58 runs in five overs before rain played spoilsport. The game, eventually, had to be called off without a result being obtained.
The second match saw Sussex take on Surrey for a South Group clash at the County Ground in Hove. Surrey registered a resounding 54-run victory after Sussex failed to chase down the target of 185 runs. Sussex were bowled out for 130 in 18.1 overs with none of the batters finding resistance.
Their top scorer was keeper-batter John Simpson who scored 25 runs off 21 balls. Jamie Smith and Laurie Evans played crucial roles with the bat for Surrey with 40+ scores and Tom Curran shone with the ball with three wickets.
