Veteran Indian batter Virat Kohli has become a global icon over the years and has become the biggest brand of the game around the world. With India preparing for the big five-match Test series against Australia, the 36-year-old’s face was used in promotional banners for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2024-25) in Australia despite no longer being captain of the team
Meanwhile, his signature MRF Genius Grand King bat has been selling for a whopping AUD 2,985 (approximately INR 1.62 lakh approximately) at the Greg Chappell Cricket Centre, in Sydney. This price point is five times higher than the VIP tickets for Coldplay’s upcoming Ahmedabad concert.

The price difference was made after YouTuber Norman Kochanek documented the premium cricket equipment at the Greg Chappell Cricket Centre. While Coldplay’s most expensive concert tickets in India are priced at INR 35,000, Kohli’s bat, complete with his signature on the sticker, remains a substantially higher-priced possession.

Furthermore, Virat Kohli has returned to the Australian soil, where he has excelled, maintaining an impressive Test average above 55 between 2016 and 2019, respectively. Moreover, he also produced stellar performances in 2016 and 2017 in particular, averaging over 75.

Now speaking of the upcoming BGT 2024-25 Test series, both teams will aim for crucial World Test Championship (WTC) points which can help them secure the spot for the summit clash. Hosts Australia are looking to break their streak of home series losses against India, while the Indian team is looking to bounce back from their recent disappointing performance against New Zealand.
