Virat Kohli had a forgettable time in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, which India lost by a 3-1 margin. The right-handed batter commenced the tour with a scintillating ton in the second innings Perth but his struggle with the deliveries outside off stump haunted him throughout the series as he was dismissed caught behind eight times out nine. His century excluded, Kohli accrued only 90 runs in the remainder of the five-match series.
He was troubled particularly by Australia pacer Scott Boland as the pacer seemed to have noticed chink in Kohli’s armour. Boland kept bowling deliveries outside the off stump and claimed his wicket four times in the series. Speaking of the same, former Australia cricketer turned commentator Kerry O’Keeffe has stated that the star India batter “had become Scott Boland’s bunny”.

“Kohli started with a century in Perth, making the most of the benign conditions after Yashasvi Jaiswal had worn out the new ball and the Aussie bowlers. But from then on he floundered. The century aside, he made only 90 runs and had become Scott Boland’s “bunny”, unable to restrict himself from playing outside off stump by the end of the series,” O’Keeffe said to Fox Sports.
