Haryana and Karnataka are all set to lock horns in the semi-final 1 of the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 at Kotambi Stadium, in Vadodara, on Wednesday, January 15.  After a month of intense cricketing action, four teams have a chance to get hold of the coveted Vijay Hazare Trophy.  While Semi-Final 1 is being played between, Haryana and Karnataka, the second one is scheduled to be played between Vidarbha and Maharashtra.

Four-time champions, Karnataka, have been in impressive form. Their skipper, Mayank Agarwal, is the tournament’s second-highest run-scorer, scoring 619 runs at an average of 123.80, including four centuries. He was supported well by Devdutt Padikkal, who registered a match-winning century in the quarter-final against Baroda, and KV Aneesh, who has scored 342 runs in the competition. Karnataka’s bowling has been spearheaded by Shreyas Gopal and Vasuki Koushik, with 16 and 17 wickets, respectively.

On the other hand, Haryana has risen through the ranks by defeating Bengal and Gujarat in the knockout stages. All-rounder Nishant Sindhu has been a brilliant performer, contributing 313 runs and 12 wickets at an economy rate of 4.98. Pacer Anshul Kamboj has also managed to pick 18 wickets so far and has been a key player in Haryana’s bowling attack, while Amit Kumar’s brilliance with the bat (507 runs at 56.33) has been evident throughout the competition.
