The ace commentator Akash Chopra has heaps of praise for Varun Chakravarthy for the way he has been performing in the ongoing edition of IPL. The mystery spinner has amused everyone with his match-winning performances and taking crucial wickets at an important juncture of the game. Chakravarthy has managed to pick up 17 wickets in the 11 matches played so far with an impressive average of 19.23 and an economy of 7.84.
In KKR’s latest game against Punjab Kings, the spin maestro took three key wickets dismissing the likes of Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma, and Rishi Dhawan before they could shift gears. Based on his performance, the former Indian opener took to his YouTube channel and praised the off-spinner saying that he has been on a different level this season and according to him, Chakravarthy is the most valuable player for KKR.
“In my opinion, the most valuable player is Varun Chakravarthy. The guy is incredible and this year he is at a different level. He won them the last match as well. He is not bowling any bad balls, there is no doubt about that,” said Chopra.
Also speaking about his bowling, the former batter added that he has been hitting the line and lengths well this season. He even said that Varun has added a whole new weapon into his armory which has certainly troubled the batsmen this time around. His bowling has looked far better than what we have seen doing in the 2022 edition of the IPL.

“The three wickets he took here, in that the way he got Liam Livingstone out, it is incredible. He has learned a new ball, which almost goes like a leg-spinner. He used to bowl carrom balls and googlies earlier, two types of deliveries, but he has a new addition now,” Chopra added.
Chopra concluded by saying that “He has started to bowl a new ball where the ball goes with revolution and turns away after pitching. The accuracy with which he is able to bowl leg-spin as well, Varun Chakaravarthy is looking like gold dust.”
