The Cricket Association of Uttarakhand has announced the opening of expressions of interest for individuals and businesses seeking to acquire franchises in the Uttarakhand Premier League. Through this application, the CAU has extended invitation to business entities and individual investors to collaborate for cricket’s development within Uttarakhand.
The tournament will feature six men’s and three women’s teams and will feature only those who are native to Uttarakhand, unlike other franchise leagues which involved both Indians overseas players. The governing council of the UPL promises to ensure an equitable and unambiguous allocation of franchises.
The league envisions a collective endeavor, with franchise owners actively participating in nurturing local talent and promoting cricketing ethos across Uttarakhand. With the objective of providing a top-notch experience to all the stakeholders involved, the CAU has forged a partnership with Sspark Sports, an event-management firm with a proven track record in organizing major cricket leagues such as the Indian Premier League and T10. An MoU has been formalized between CAU and Sspark Sports for the second edition of the Uttarakhand Premier League.
