Ace India batter Virat Kohli is undoubtedly one of the most influential cricketers in the world. At 35 years old, Kohli has won almost everything there is to win in the sport, and he continues to inspire the next generation of superstars through his influence and performances.

The same has been the case with RCB and Karnataka cricketer Vijaykumar Vyshak. The 27-year-old recently came forward and talked about how training alongside Kohli has inspired and impacted him.

Vyshak made his IPL debut in 2023, where he picked up nine wickets from seven matches. He played alongside Kohli in the IPL 2024 and shared his experience of training alongside the ace batter.

“Training with Virat Kohli can really impact you as a player. Last season, while I admired him, I paid attention to the finer details such as his work ethic, his process, and his consistency. Whether it is his eating habits or practice routine, everything is done with precision. It is admirable how confident he is before every game, and now I try to have the same confidence every time I step onto the field,” Vyshak was quoted as saying by IndiaToday.

It is worth noting that Vyshak played four games in the IPL 2024 and managed to take four wickets to his name. Furthermore, he shared the advice given to him by Mohammed Siraj after he had a bad game.

“In my first game for RCB, I did well, but then I conceded 60 runs in the next match. Siraj told me, ‘This is the game, and this is the challenge at the highest level.’ I am keen to keep this in mind and to pass on these lessons whenever I can,” Vyshak said.

In recent times, the Karnataka pacer has been in excellent form in domestic cricket, scoring 343 runs from 13 innings at an average of 31.18 and a strike rate of 72.82 with one hundred and one fifty. He also finished as the highest wicket-taker for his side picking 39 wickets from 16 innings.
