Day 1 of the two-day pink-ball clash between Team India and the Prime Minister’s XI resulted in a washout due to consistent rain. The chances of the play on day 1 were very low, with steady drizzle towering over the venue from 10 AM to 5 PM.
Notably, the Indian team made their way onto the ground but were unable to get into action. It is worth noting that the rain did stop briefly, and the covers were being peeled off as well. However, much heavier rain came through at 7 p.m., which made it clear that there would be no play on day 1 of the clash.
As day 2 approached, the game was expected to be a 50-over affair as per ESPN Cricinfo. The clash will start at 2.40 pm on Sunday. Tickets for Saturday’s play will be refunded. Interestingly, the pink ball clash against PM’s XI was India’s only chance to get some time with the pink ball before the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2024-25).
India to take on Australia in Adelaide for second Test
Speaking of the ongoing BGT 2024-25, the Indian team has managed to register a dominant win in the first Test. Both sides locked horns in the first Test in Perth, and after a subpar display with the bat by both sides in the first innings, team India put in an exceptional display with the bat and posted a huge total for Australia to chase down.
