Chennai Super Kings (CSK) boast a formidable batting lineup, and three standout batters are expected to make a significant impact in the upcoming IPL season. Not only did they retain most of their core batting unit, but they enhanced it with a few more talents from young Indians on offer during the IPL 2024 auction.
The onus of carrying the batting will be on the seasoned campaigners of the side, who are mostly from New Zealand. However, the Indian batting has also done well for CSK, especially with the likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad, MS Dhoni, and Ajinkya Rahane. But with the updated list of batters in the CSK squad for the IPL 2024, here is a look at the 3 CSK batters to watch out for.

3. Shivam Dube

Shivam Dube has been a revelation for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. The big-hitting all-rounder joined the Yellow Army in IPL 2022 and in two seasons in 27 matches, Dube has 707 runs at a strike-rate of 157.46. He has hit five fifties and has a best score of 95. In this course, he has 51 sixes and 34 fours to this name as well.
Dube benefitted from being given a role in the CSK batting lineup by MS Dhoni and was backed thoroughly by the CSK team. In return, Dube has given the franchise brilliant knocks some of which have been match-winning as well. This also helped him return to the Indian team and shine in the recent few bilateral series.

2. Rachin Ravindra

Rachin Ravindra was the find for New Zealand in the recent World Cup 2023 tournament. Taking full advantage of batting up the order, Ravindra hammered three centuries and scored a total of 565 runs, the most by any batter making his World Cup debut. He was so good that even when Kane Williamson returned, New Zealand stuck with Ravindra.
Ravindra has 820 ODI runs from 25 matches and 146 T20I runs from 19 matches. He also has 29 wickets in limited overs for New Zealand. It remains to be seen where Ravindra will slot in the CSK lineup, as he has been picked more as a backup for Moeen Ali, the England all-rounder. But be sure of Ravindra shining when he gets his chance.

1. Ruturaj Gaikwad

Ruturaj Gaikwad has been excellent for CSK since joining the franchise in IPL 2020. In 52 matches, Gaikwad has 1797 runs with one century and 14 fifties. He also has a score of 99 to his name. He averages 39.06 and strikes at 135.52. He has even shined for the Indian side in limited overs, scoring a century against Australia in T20Is recently.
Apart from his batting, Gaikwad is touted as the next captain of the CSK franchise. The Maharashtra batter has ample leadership experience in domestic cricket. He also captained India to the Asian Games gold medal last year and is also a candidate for India’s captaincy in the coming time.
