The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) recently announced that for the upcoming Test between India women and South Africa women at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai, entry will be free.
The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side whitewashed South Africa women in the three-game ODI series, and both sides will now face off in a one-off Test. The TNCA recently released a statement in which they revealed that the fans will be given free entry into the stadium.
The move has been pulled off in an attempt to lure more crowds to women’s cricket matches. Furthermore, the board also revealed that the price for the T20Is between Indian and South Africa women will be only INR 150. It was also announced that the C, D, and E lower stands will be opened to the public free of charge, and if they are full, then they will allow free entry to the I, K, and K lower stands of MA Chidambaram Stadium.
India aim to keep up form against South Africa
India women put in a brilliant performance in the three-game ODI series against South Africa women. Dominating the side throughout the series, India women looked flawless in Bengaluru. The side won the first ODI by 143 runs, the second by four runs, and the third by six wickets.
Smriti Mandhana was the star of the show for the side, scoring two centuries and a knock of 90 runs in the third clash. A lot will depend on her in the upcoming Test as the hosts look to keep up their winning run. It is worth noting that after the only Test, both sides will face off across three T20Is.
