Legendary India batter Sachin Tendulkar is one of the cricketers who is very active on social media. The 50-year-old frequently shares videos and photos, whether it is personal or presenting the remarkable skills of young talents, and his posts never fail to astonish people.
On International Tiger Day (July 29), the former India captain uploaded a breathtaking photo of a tiger on social media that was clicked by him. The image shows a tiger sitting on a rock in the forest, with a ferocious expression on its face. Sharing the photo the ‘Master Blaster’ expressed his love for the national animal and urged others to post their finest pictures of Tiger.
“Tiger is one of my favourite animals. On #InternationalTigerDay, show me one of the best pictures of Tigers you’ve clicked in the wild. Here’s one clicked by me,” Tendulkar captioned the Twitter post.
Following Tendulkar’s request, many people shared images of the tiger clicked by themselves. Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has also raised awareness by uploading a photo of a tiger on Twitter and wrote, “Let’s unite in safeguarding these majestic creatures and their habitats. Together, we can ensure their safe future!”
International Tiger Day observes to create awareness for tiger conservation
Every year on July 29, International Tiger Day is observed to raise awareness for tiger conservation which was created in 2010 at the Saint Petersburg Tiger Summit in Russia. A total of 13 countries, including India, joined together with the goal of doubling the number of wild tigers across the globe. India is recognised as having the most tigers at present, with approximately 3,167 animals in the country.
The goal of Tiger Day is to promote a global system for safeguarding the natural habitats of tigers, as well as to raise public awareness and support for tiger conservation concerns. Additionally, International Tiger Day has been found to be helpful in raising tiger awareness online through information searches.
