Team India Women’s (IND-W) last assignment under Harmanpreet Kaur in the year 2024, is the ongoing three-match ODI series against West Indies (WI-W). This year has been a mixed bag for the Women in Blue, with some memorable achievements and a T20 World Cup debacle.

Notably, they played one Test, 11 ODIs, and 23 T20Is in 2024. India won the solitary Test against South Africa. Meanwhile, they won six ODIs and 15 T20Is in the year. However, the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 campaign in the UAE will hurt them the most. Considered one of the favourites heading into the tournament, India failed to progress beyond the first round.

However, some impressive performances from India Women batters garnered considerable praise from the cricket fraternity.

3. Richa Ghosh

Richa Ghosh produced some stunning performances in the shortest format of the game this year. She averaged 33.18 from 16 innings, having scored her runs at a strike rate of 156.65. The wicketkeeper-batter notched up two half-centuries in the format.

Meanwhile, she scored a swashbuckling 86 off 90 balls in the Test match against South Africa. In the ODI format, the 21-year-old registered one half-century from eight innings.

2. Harmanpreet Kaur

Harmanpreet Kaur produced much better performances in 2024 compared to last year. She averaged 43.77 from 20 T20Is and 42.75 from 10 ODIs. Meanwhile, against South Africa in the one-off Test, she scored a solid 69 off 115 deliveries.

The 35-year-old batter scored two 50-plus scores in the 50-over format and three in T20Is. She will want to finish the year with a high against the West Indies in the ODI series in Vadodara.

1. Smriti Mandhana

Smriti Mandhana started the year slowly but has been in scintillating form towards the backend. She has slammed one century and four half-centuries in her last five international appearances. Mandhana smashed a brilliant 149 in the Test against the Proteas.

In the ODI format, the Indian Vice-Captain scored six 50-plus scores, including four centuries. Meanwhile, in T20I cricket, Mandhana managed to register as many as eight half-centuries from 21 innings.
