With the conclusion of the WPL (Women’s Premier League) 2025 mini auction, all it has come down to is the organisation of the tournament, and in good news for the fans, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has reportedly identified a window to conduct the third season of the league.

The marquee tournament will span over a month between early February and March, and according to reports, it could be held from February 6 to March 9, 2025. The exact dates are yet to be decided. Furthermore, just like the last two seasons, the WPL 2025 will also have 22 matches.

The BCCI had also planned to introduce a new team in the new season of the WPL, but that idea has been shelved. Furthermore, the board is yet to finalise the venues for the tournament. According to reports, the MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association) has not been approached to host matches. Furthermore, a KSCA official also confirmed that Bengaluru is not being considered as well.

RCB women look to defend their title

With the new season of the WPL approaching, many eyes would be set upon Royal Challengers Bengaluru women. Led by Smriti Mandhana, RCB women broke the jinx of the franchise and won their first-ever piece of silverware. Where the men’s team has been unable to get their hands on the IPL, the women’s team managed to do in their second season.

However, with the new season approaching, RCB women will hope for a successful title defence. It could prove to be a big task at hand for the franchise, but many have been waiting in anticipation to witness the side’s performance in the new season.
