After accusing the ICC of having favoured India at the T20 World Cup 2024, former England skipper, Michael Vaughan has made some bold predictions regarding the future of Indian cricket. Vaughan noted that if India managed to beat South Africa in the final of the T20 World Cup, nothing would hold them from clinching the upcoming titles given the quality of cricketers the team possesses.
It is worth noting that, Vaughan had shown remorse towards ICC for being biased towards the Indian team. He also added the Indian games are scheduled during the day to cater to the Indian audience who would be watching the games at night. He also alleged that the Indian team pre-empted their semifinal venue and the conditions that led them to leverage the outcomes.
“I feel if India get the job done today they are going to go on a trophy winning spree .. they have so much quality in and out of this squad .. Its been 10 yrs since they won a trophy and this one could lead to quite a few over the next years .. #T20WC2024Final,” Vaughan posted on ‘X’.
“Literally, it’s their tournament. They get to play whenever they want. They get to know exactly where their semifinal will be. They play every single game in the morning so people can watch them at night in India on TV. I get that. I get that money is a big play in the world of cricket. And I get that in bilateral series, but you would think that when you get to a World Cup, the ICC should be a little bit fairer to everybody. It shouldn’t be just India just because they bring a few quid in” Vaughan had said in the Club Prairie Fire podcast.

Inzamam-ul-Haq alleges Indian bowlers tinkering the ball
The controversies surrounding the Indian team’s dominant outing in the tournament is not new as former Pakistan captain, Inzamam-ul-Haq has also passed a scathing remark. Talking on 24 News, the former Pakistani skipper has alleged that the Indian bowlers are manoeuvring the ball physically, as they can generate swing late in the 17th over.
India captain, Rohit Sharma, quashed the baseless allegations and added that it is the case with every other team due to the conditions in the Caribbean.
