Star India batter Jemimah Rodrigues will be playing for Northern Superchargers in the third edition of The Hundred. Notably, the cricketer will be replacing the injured Heather Graham and is expected to join the squad soon, as the tournament is slated to begin on August 1.
Notably, Jemimah was the second top-scorer in the first edition of the tournament but missed the second year due to an injury. Meanwhile, ahead of the third season, the cricketer has expressed her excitement to be back in the competition and to make a significant impact to bring joy to the fans.
“I’m so excited to be back in The Hundred. It’s a world-class competition, and I’ve had so much fun taking part in it previously. I was very disappointed to have to withdraw last year through injury, so it’s great to be back. Headingley is a brilliant ground to play at, with great fans, and I can’t wait to be back out there,” Jemimah was quoted as saying by The Hundred.
Meanwhile, Jemimah is in remarkable form at the moment. The Mumbai-born cricketer recently hit 86 runs in the second ODI against Bangladesh. Courtesy of her sensational knock, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side won the match by 108 runs. Even in the third and final match of the series, the cricketer looked to be in good form but failed to help India win the match, as it ended on level terms.
When it comes to T20s, Jemimah did a fantastic job for Delhi Capitals in the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League. In T20Is, the youngster has represented India in 83 matches, scoring 1751 runs in the process. She is also brilliant in the field, and other than that, the 22-year-old is also known for being a tremendous team player. She knows how to keep the environment light, and that helps the team in a long tournament. Thus, her addition will definitely boast Northern Superchargers’ chances to win the tournament.
