Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra recently came forward and slammed the Australian media, after he recalled an incident involving Ishant Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja from the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2018-19. In that series, India won the first Test of the series in Adelaide by 31 runs.

Furthermore, Chopra recounted the incident from the second Test in Perth, where Ravindra Jadeja and Ishant Sharma had a heated exchange. According to Chopra, during the moment, the Australian media amplified the stump mic so that the general public could hear better.

“They (Australian media) used to release videos. They did it in front of me when Ishant Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja had a heated exchange with each other while standing in the 30-yard circle. The broadcasters amped up the stump mic as they were abusing each other. They cut the clip and shared it with the press in front of me. After that, when we were talking off the field, I was like, ‘What are we actually trying to achieve because it’s nothing,” Aakash Chopra said on the 2 Sloggers YouTube channel.

He also revealed that former Australia batter Ricky Ponting came on air alongside him and opined that the moment is being overexaggerated. He also talked about how Ponting slammed the Indian team as soon as he got the mic, despite saying something else before.

“Then Ricky (Ponting) was there with us, and he said they are ‘Making a mountain out of a molehill.’ The moment he went on air, he tore into the Indian team, and I was stunned that he had just said something else a few minutes back,” Ponting said.
