The 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to begin on March 31. The opening match will be played between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Cricket fans are eagerly waiting for the cricket carnival to kick start, which will be returning with its original home-and-away format after three years.

While speaking on Star Sports, former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar lauded Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) bowling strength. He reckoned that RCB have the best bowling attack for this IPL season. Notably, RCB will begin their campaign at home against the Mumbai Indians on April 2.

“Their pace bowling has depth. Even if Hazlewood is not fit, then they have Topley. In spin, they have Wanindu Hasaranga. They have Mohammed Siraj, Harshal Patel. Their bowling is perfect and even Maxwell can bowl. In this IPL, according to me, the best bowling attack belongs to RCB and that is their combined x-factor,” Manjrekar said.

RCB makes smart additions for IPL 2023 season

The Royal Challengers Bangalore is one of the most popular IPL franchises. They haven’t won a single title since the tournament’s inception. The three-time finalists had a reasonably good season last year, as they finished fourth in the 10-team tournament. However, in the eliminator round, RCB lost to the Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals.

RCB have roped in some brilliant players like Will Jacks for the 2023 IPL. The English batter was purchased by RCB for INR 3.2 crores. Albeit, in a major blow, he has been ruled out of the entire season after sustaining an injury. Notably, he has been replaced by the talented Kiwis batter, Michael Bracewell.

The Faf-du-Plessis-led side strengthened its bowling arsenal banking on some local talents viz- Rajan Kumar, Avinash Singh, and Sonu Yadav among others. The Royal Challengers Bangalore will be hoping to win their maiden title in the cash-rich league this year.
