Renowned cricket analyst Harsha Bhogle was seen picking his favourites from the recently-concluded T20 World Cup 2024 to create a team of the tournament. A star-studded XI picked by Bhogle includes as many as six Indian players, while two from Afghanistan have also made their way into the pack. Notably, the World Cup-winning captain and Men in Blue skipper is also the leader of Harsha Bhogle’s XI.
In the opening duties, Rohit has been paired alongside Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who shone for the Blue Tigers with his acute stroke-making throughout the tournament. Both the batters have ensured quick starts and showed right intents from the get-go for their respective teams in the coveted ICC event.
Later, the no.3 spot has been held by fiery Caribbean Nicholas Pooran, who has also been given the role of the wicketkeeper. Suryakumar Yadav is another Indian name that features in the list by Bhogle.
On the all-rounder’s part, Australia’s Marcus Stoinis, Indian vice-captain Hardik Pandya, and Afghan skipper Rashid Khan also found themselves in Harsha Bhogle’s team of the tournament. The trio, according to Bhogle give the side perfect balance required for a team to win big championships.
At last, Kuldeep Yadav is the specialist spinner, followed by a gun pace attack, led by Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh.
Bhogle shared his entire playing combination on Cricbuzz, and also opined the quality of cricket put on display put on by the men he picked for the tournament.
It is noteworthy to mention that not a single player from the finalists and runner-ups, South Africa, were able to see their name in the list shared by Bhogle. Barring Pooran, all the names in the team picked by Bhogle are from the teams that made it to the knockouts of the global tournament.
