After a thrilling win over Australia in their previous match, Afghanistan are on the verge of making it to the semi-final of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. However, the job is not done yet. To progress to the next round, they must defeat Bangladesh in their upcoming Super Eight game on June 25 at Amos Vale Ground. A defeat can complicate their qualification as plenty also depends on Australia’s encounter against India.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran have been incredible with the bat, scoring a half-century each in the previous match against Australia. However, the middle-order failed to capitalise, which is something the team would want to correct. Among the bowlers, Naveen-ul-Haq and Gulbadin Naib were spot on while the spinners have done a commendable job. They look like a well-settled side and should be confident of their chances to make it to the semis.

Bangladesh, with two losses, are nearly out of the race of the semi-final race keeping aside a miracle. They had some positives in the tournament but they were let down by their inconsistent batting unit. Among the  bowlers, Tanzim Sakib has been a top performer while Rishad Hossain has consistently been among the wickets, even if he has leaked a few runs.
