England (ENG) were on the verge of elimination but two back-to-back wins against Namibia and Oman changed their fortune in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. They qualified for the Super 8 based on Net Run Rate (NRR) and will take on hosts West Indies (WI) on (Thursday) June 20, at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, in St Lucia.

The Three Lions have done a decent job but haven’t been clinical. Skipper Jos Buttler is yet to make a significant mark while Phil Salt managed to give good starts but hasn’t capitalized on any. Harry Brook looked ruthless in the last match but he too struggles with consistency. Among bowlers, Jofra Archer and Mark Wood have done well but the spinners need to come good against West Indies.

The hosts meanwhile have all the bases covered. Brandon King’s form might be slightly concerning but the team management is unlikely to give it a thought. Nicholas Pooran played a blistering knock of 98 runs off 53 balls in their last match against Afghanistan while Johnson Charles, Shai Hope and Rovman Powell too looked good. Among bowlers, Obed McCoy, Akeil Hosein and Gudakesh Motie looked good.
