A win over Nepal can seal Bangladesh’s spot in the Super 8 of the ongoing T20 World Cup. Even if they suffer a loss, they can still qualify but it depends on the match between Sri Lanka and Netherlands. However, the Bangla Tigers would only think of a win against Nepal, who were almost on the verge of beating South Africa in their last match. They are expected to come hard at Bangladesh as well on June 17 at Arnos Vale Ground in St Vincent.
Nepal bowlers were ruthless in the last match. Kushal Bhurtel picked up four wickets while Dipendra Singh picked up three as the Rohit Paudel-led side restricted South Africa to just 115 runs. Against Bangladesh, they would play on similar lines and would be desperate to cause an upset to send a statement to world cricket that they are ready for the big tournaments.
Bangladesh, meanwhile, have things to worry about. Their batters haven’t delivered well, which is concerning. Shakib Al Hasan, however, was sensational in their last match against Netherlands but the others need to pull up their socks. The bowling unit has done a commendable job as Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman and Tanzim Sakib are in good form at the moment.
