Nepal suffer early blows

Nepal had a very rough start in their match against the Netherlands. The match was delayed by several minutes due to a wet outfield and when it started, the Scott Edwards-led side took a grip of the match. Nepal lost key wickets of Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh in the powerplay and managed to score 29 runs in the powerplay.

Youngster Tim Pringle and Logan van Beek picked up a wicket each for Netherlands. For Nepal, skipper Rohit Paudel and Anil Sah took control of the situation. They were reduced to 15/2 at one stage since then, the players have shown a lot of grit and didn’t give away cheap wickets. However, in the eighth over mark, Pringle came back in action and dismissed Sah for 11 runs off 12 balls.

On the other hand, run-rate has been an issue for the team but there’s not a lot they can do. Losing two wickets early on did not help and later, they also shot at a critical time which only worsened the situation.

Meanwhile, a lot of Nepalese fans have turned up at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas. A sea of blue can be seen in the stadium and that’s a positive sign, given that Nepal are a very young cricketing side.

This is not Kathmandu, This is Dallas 🥶
