The 95th Academy Awards has been a memorable one for Indians. A song from SS Rajamouli’s movie RRR, ‘Naatu Naatu’, won the Oscar for Best Original Song. Meanwhile, The Elephant Whisperers won the Oscar in the Best Documentary Short Fim category, which was also the second award for India at the event..

While the entire nation is celebrating the success of RRR, former cricketeres and legends of their era Sunil Gavaskar and Matthew Hayden were spotted grooving to the Oscar-winning track.

The former cricketers were seen matching the hook steps of ‘Naatu Naatu,’ after the fourth and final test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which concluded on March 13 in Ahmedabad.

The official broadcaster of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Star Sports shared a clip of Gavaskar and Hayden’s dance performance on Twitter. In the video, the former Australian cricketer can be seen sharing a plate full of Gujarati snacks with his fellow commentators. Sanjay Bangar revealed that it was meant for the celebrations regarding India’s qualification in the World Test Championship (WTC) final and as well as Naatu Naatu’s victory. In the video, Ajit Agarkar and Jatin Sapru were also seen shaking their legs alongside Gavaskar and Hayden.

India book their spot in WTC final in June

Team India earlier outclassed Australia in the first two Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The visitors managed to turn the table around in the third Test in Indore and won it by nine wickets. With the win, Australia secured their berth in the WTC final which is slated to be held on June 7 at The Oval, London. Meanwhile, the fourth and final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy ended in a draw on Day 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday, March 13.

As the final Test ended up in a draw, Rohit Sharma and Co. won the series by 2-1 and confirmed their ticket to the WTC final. India secured their place in the final after New Zealand edged past Sri Lanka in the first Test of the two-match series. The Rahul Dravid-coached side will now play the WTC final against Australia. Meanwhile, the two teams will lock horns in a three-match ODI which will begin on March 17.
