The Pakitan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the players who will be in the platinum category ahead of the PSL draft which will commence on the 11th of January this year. The platinum category of the draft is set to feature big international stars David Warner, Adil Rashid, Chris Woakes, and Mustafizur Rahman. Some big legends were also set to be part of the platinum category ahead of the draft as Australia superstar batter Steve Smith and former New Zealand’s former skipper Kane Williamson were also most likely going to feature in the T20 franchise league. However, it is reported that the two players have excused themselves from the tournament due to prior commitments and it seems like the two will not be featuring in the tournament.
The other players in the Platinum category are Matthew Short, Riley Meredith, Adil Rashid, Gus Atkinson, Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Tom Curran, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Finn Allen, Mark Chapman, Charith Asalanka, and Shai Hope.
This will be the first time the PSL will be clashing with the IPL and the PCB is making arrangements to make sure that all the high-profile overseas players who were not picked in the IPL will be playing in the upcoming tournament.
This will be the 10th edition of the PSL which will feature six teams which will include the Karachi Kings, Islamabad United, Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi, and Quetta Gladiators. The winners of the last season were Islamabad United who beat the Multan Sultans in a thrilling final match by two wickets.
