The world of cinema and sports go hand in hand as it is no exception that several movies have come out in past regarding sports entities and teams. In the same vein, there has been a long-time buzz that a biopic is being made on the former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar. However, when it comes to movie making, there have been several controversies in past related to the production and related rights of the movie in concern. This time the fire has spread for the wrong reason and the pacer is seemingly not happy about a biopic being made on him without his due approvals.
Consequently, the former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, famously known as the “Rawalpindi Express,” recently, came forward to announce that he has obtained a restraining order against the production and release of his supposed biopic. Akhtar expressed his concern over the continuous filming efforts of a certain group, despite the termination of the agreement between them.
Furthermore, to shed light on the situation, he shared a legal notice warning the individuals involved about the illegality of their actions and the potential consequences for their reputations. Notably, back in January, Akhtar had already said that he was not going to be a part of the biopic and warned the filmmakers that if they proceed with the biopic without his permission, he will take legal action against them.
“Important announcement. Stay order secured against supposed biopic on my life. Details attached,” Akhtar wrote on his Twitter handle along with the legal notice attached.

With his successful legal action, Shoaib Akhtar has asserted his rights and halted the production of the unauthorized biopic. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting an individual’s consent and legal agreements when representing their life story onscreen.
