India and Australia are facing off in the second Test at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. India won the toss and opted to bat first in the pink-ball Test but the decision did not yield a good result for the team as they were bundled up for just 180 runs. It was expected from the Indian pacers to go full throttle but the Australian batters were resilient enough to defend some and strike some.
They only lost one wicket on Day 1 in the form of Usman Khawaja. The Australia opener fell prey to the star India pacer Jasprit Bumrah and departed scoring 13 runs off 35 balls. With this wicket, Bumrah scripted yet another milestone and joined the elite club of Indian pacers with 50 Test wickets or more in a calendar year.

In 17 Tests Kapil played in 1979, he picked 74 wickets at an average of 22.95 with an economy rate of 2.86 and a strike rate of 48.01. He surpassed his own record to hold the first place four years later. In 1983, he played 18 Tests and picked 75 wickets at an average of 23.18, with an economy rate of 3 and a strike rate of 46.25.
