Sri Lanka’s Government officially conveyed regret to ACC President and BCCI’s Secretary, Jay Shah, for Arjuna Ranatunga’s remarks holding Shah responsible for Sri Lanka Cricket’s decline. In Parliament, Ministers Harin Fernando and Kanchana Wijesekara acknowledged the issue, clarifying that accountability lies with local administrators, not external entities. Their stance emphasized the internal responsibilities within Sri Lanka’s cricketing sphere, affirming that the blame rests squarely on the shoulders of domestic management rather than casting aspersions on outsiders.
