Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) recently came forward and named 17-man squads for the ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming New Zealand series. It is worth noting that the Lankan Lions and New Zealand will face off across two T20Is and three ODI matches.
The series is all set to kick off on November 9, and Charith Asalanka is all set to lead the island nation against the BlackCaps. There have been some changes in the squad, and some recalls have been made as well. Kusal Perera has been called back into the squad. It is worth noting that his last appearance in the ODI format came during the ODI World Cup 2023.
Dushmantha Chameera will also miss out on the series, with Bhanuka Rajapaksha retaining his place once more. Furthermore, Dasun Shanaka was not considered for the squad that will take on New Zealand. It is worth noting that Shanaka was not included in the recent series which was played at home against West Indies as well.
New Zealand looks to put in a good showing in the white ball series
New Zealand will hope that they can put in a good performance in the upcoming white-ball tour to Sri Lanka. Both sides will lock horns in Dambulla for the first two T20Is, which are scheduled to take place on November 9 and 10. Furthermore, the ODI matches will be played in Dambulla and Pallekele on November 13, 17, and 19, respectively.
