Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper Aiden Markram picked an excellent catch to help dismiss Suryakumar Yadav during clash against Mumbai Indians (MI). The two heavyweight franchises have squared off at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad in match 25 of the ongoing IPL 2023 season on Tuesday, April 18.

Upon winning the toss, skipper Markram decided to put the Mumbai-based franchise to bat first. After losing skipper Rohit Sharma and flamboyant batter Ishan Kishan for 87 runs, Mumbai have dealt with another blow in the form of Suryakumar Yadav’s dismissal.

In the fifth ball of the 12th over, Suryakumar was up against pacer Marco Jansen. The batter was just trying to settle down and get to his element; however, Jansen delivered the blow as Suryakumar lobbied the ball wide of mid-off only to find Markram.

The skipper of SRH ran to his left before lunging forward to take a brilliant catch, thereby helping his side to send the flamboyant batter packing for mere seven runs. Notably, Jansen picked two wickets the same over, and interestingly it was Markram’s catch that sent Ishan back to the dugout.

MI eye competitive first innings total

After the dismissal of the top order, the five-time IPL winners have pinned their hopes on the middle order to keep the side steady in the contest. Rohit Sharma and Co. will be eyeing a competitive first-innings score upon which the bowling unit will look to deliver the goods during the chase.

The two sides have always produced exhilarating matches, as their head-to-head records have been quite close. In 19 matches contested between the two sides, Mumbai have won 10 games, whereas the orange outfit have obtained wins in nine matches.

Mumbai will be gunning to add a third win on the trot after enduring a dismal start to the season. Rohit Sharma and Co. lost their first two games and followed it with as many wins in the next two to keep momentum at their end. It remains to be seen if Mumbai can put up a decent total or Hyderabad will assert their dominance by getting the required breakthroughs in the clash.
