The two-match Test series between South Africa against Sri Lanka will kick off on November 27 at the Kingsmead Cricket Stadium, Durban, while the second Test is scheduled to start on December 5 at the St George’s Park Cricket Ground, Gqeberha. 

South Africa and Sri Lanka have faced each in 31 Tests, with South Africa securing 16 wins while Sri Lanka nine, and six encounters have ended in a draw. The two-match series will play a crucial role in determining the fate of the teams in action for the ICC World Test Championship 2023–25, as South Africa currently sits fifth in the standings, trailing third-placed Sri Lanka. While Sri Lanka have won five of their nine Tests in the ongoing cycle, South Africa have clinched four out of eight.

The last time these nations faced off in a Test series was in 2020-21 (Dec-Jan) in South Africa, where the hosts secured a 2-0 series victory.
