Australia Women’s star batter Beth Mooney praised Georgia Voll highly for her performance against India Women in the second ODI. Voll scored a quickfire maiden century in Brisbane. The 21-year-old batter has impressed experts and fans alike as she has brought her domestic form to the big stage.
The Australia Women’s team had another impressive performance against India Women in the second ODI on Sunday, December 8. Though it was Ellyse Perry who was adjudged the Player of the Match, we also cannot forget the contribution of Voll who was playing only her second ODI and delivered a pacy knock of 101 from just 87 deliveries which included 12 fours. This was a great start to her international career.
One of the players who praised Voll after her performance is Australia Women’s star batter Beth Mooney. The middle-order batter talked about how Voll has been the perfect replacement for the injured Alyssa Healy and how much she enjoyed her performance.
“She has taken to it [international cricket] like a duck to water, She is a bit of a breath of fresh air being a country kid. She knows her game pretty well after doing it for a while in domestic cricket, so I think that has really helped her come into international cricket with a bit of confidence in her own game and her own form,” Mooney said as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

Young talent puts pressure on the selectors and seniors
There is no doubt that Australian Women’s cricket is in great hands with young players making big scores in international cricket but there is also pressure on the selectors and the senior players to pick the perfect squad which Mooney talked about.
“These young kids coming in and peeling off hundreds left, right and center put a bit of pressure on the rest of us, but it’s a great spot Australian cricket is in,” Mooney added.
