The World Championship of Legends is in full flow, with many former cricketers giving it their all to get their hands on the title. The likes of Shaun Marsh and Tim Paine have been enjoying their time playing for Australia Champions. Under the leadership of former pacer Brett Lee, Australia Champions lead the points table with four wins in five matches.
Marsh and Paine revealed about their experience of playing in the tournament so far in a recent chat with CricTracker. The duo opened up about the clash against Pakistan Champions in the second game of the tournament. Notably, former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi dismissed Paine on a golden duck with a brilliant googly. It is worth noting that in Paine’s first ever Test game for Australia, Afridi dismissed him with a similar delivery.

“I was laughing; the boys were getting stuck into me as it was. A golden duck in the first game after flying all the way from Australia wasn’t the plan. It was very funny because in my first Test match, it was against Pakistan and Afridi got me out with the exact same ball. That was about 15 years ago and I still cant pick his wrong’uns,” Paine told Crictracker.
I was disappointed: Shaun Marsh
Former Australia cricketer Shaun Marsh also gave his take on Afridi’s delivery against Paine. While joking that he was a bit disappointed, he admitted that such things are a part and parcel of the game.
“I was a bit disappointed but it is a part of the game, but I think that as the tournament has gone on, we have gotten better in terms of skill set as we have not played cricket in a long time. Some guys have not played in years and it takes a little bit of time to get their skills upto where it is needed,” Marsh said.
“I think we are building nicely towards the back end of this tournament and hopefully we can play well in the semis and make our way into the finals,” he added.
