Game 10 of the ongoing WPL (Women’s Premier League) featured a clash between Delhi Capitals women and Gujarat Giants women at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Sunday, March 3. Both sides put in good performances, with the Meg Lanning-led Delhi Capitals emerging victorious.
The clash also saw history being scripted as the very first concussion substitution was made in the tournament’s history as Gujarat Giants’ Sayali Satghare was brought in the place of Dayalan Hemalatha, who sustained a concussion.
It is worth noting that Hemalatha sustained a blow to her forehead while attempting a catch at deep midwicket in the 15th over of Capitals’ innings. Hemalatha did not feature for the Giants on the field after her injury, and Sayali Satghare came in as her replacement.
Interestingly, Satghare was picked up by the Giants in the auction for INR 2 crore and went unbeaten on a score of seven runs in the second innings of the 10th game of the WPL.
