The Delhi Capitals (DC) won their sixth match of IPL 2024 after defeating the Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 20 runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi on Tuesday. Batting first, the Capitals scored 221 runs, before restricting the Royals to 201 runs. JioCinema IPL experts Parthiv Patel and Pragyan Ojha praised the performances of Jake Fraser-McGurk (50 runs), Abishek Porel (65 runs), and Sanju Samson (86 runs) on Match Centre Live.

Pragyan Ojha spoke on Sanju Samson’s controversial dismissal – “We have to keep in mind that it was the wicket of an important player and also realize that we have the technology to take more time and get a proper look at it. The match depended on this, as the wicket that fell, shifted the momentum of the match. The debate has been if Hope’s leg touched the rope or if it was a shadow. If you took the time to see it and analyze it, maybe they would have gotten more clarity. Even Sanju knew the match was in jeopardy based on the questions he was asking. If he kept playing, maybe his team would have had a Q next to their name tonight.”

Ojha spoke on Abishek Porel – “He was playing in McGurk’s shadow but after he was dismissed, we found out how well Porel has been playing. The way he was picking the ball up, the shots he played, and the clarity he showed, it was good to see. The trust they have in him, they had him open when they had Prithvi Shaw as an opener. They gave him a chance and he grabbed it. It was sensational. The best thing about this was the clarity in his batting. Knowing where to hit the balls, the field placement, and the way he was reading everything was great to see.”

Parthiv Patel spoke on Jake Fraser-McGurk – “He doesn’t come in and start swinging for no reason. He may have started in that fashion, but we got to see him make adjustments. He was trying to hit Trent Boult’s deliveries into the leg side, mid-wicket, or square-leg, but with the swing of the ball, he adjusted to hitting it towards the off side or long-on. When Avesh Khan was bowling, he maximized that and put him under pressure. Many people will criticize his lack of defense, but there is a method to his madness. He’s been scoring runs and hitting sixes consistently, so you have to praise his consistency.”
