RR SWOT Analysis & IPL 2025 Fan Poll: Rate the RR squad after mega auction (Image: IPL)
Rajasthan Royals had many questions to answer in the IPL 2025 auction. The side made many questionable releases ahead of the auction, releasing the likes of Jos Buttler, Yuzvendra Chahal, Trent Boult, and many more.
Furthermore, in the two-day event held in Jeddah, Rajasthan Royals managed to rope in the likes of Tushar Deshpande, Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, Jofra Archer, and several stars to their arsenal. They will hope that with a revamped lineup in the new season of the IPL, RR manages to put in a good showing and get their hands on their second IPL title.
RR Squad Overview
Rajasthan Royals used all six of their retentions ahead of IPL 2025; the side retained Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer, and Sandeep Sharma. Furthermore, with the addition of Nitish Rana, Jofra Archer, and Maheesh Theekshana to their squad, the Royals look like a formidable side. Despite not having star players like Buttler and Boult, the side could present a strong case in the title run.
RR Squad SWOT Analysis:
Strengths: Rajasthan Royals’ biggest strength in the IPL 2025 could be their bowling attack. With the likes of Jofra Archer, Wanindu Hasaranga, Sandeep Sharma, and Tushar Deshpande, the Royals not only have a formidable pace attack; but they also boast a good mix of spinners. They will look to make the most of the spin-friendly pitches across the various venues in the hunt for their second IPL title, making them one of the stronger squads among the IPL 2025 Teams.
Weaknesses: One disadvantage for RR could be the lack of batting depth in the top order. In previous seasons, the side had Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal opening the innings, and he was followed by Sanju Samson coming out to bat. However, with Buttler gone and Nitish Rana in at 3, Rajasthan Royals would surely feel how important the ace England batter was for them.
Opportunities: Royals have managed to make a strong middle order and a formidable bowling attack. The side will look to make the most of Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer, and Riyan Parag in the middle and reap the benefits of Sri Lanka’s spin duo in Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana in their bowling.
Threats: The team’s biggest threat could be once again some key misses in the top order. After the openers, the Royals do not have any dependable backup options in their squad and will pin their hopes on Nitish Rana and co.
