Located in the heart of the city of Bangalore, the five-decade-old M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is the home ground of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Known as the batter’s best friend due to the nature of the pitch and small boundaries, this venue has produced several high-scoring thrillers over the years.

The stadium will be hosting its fifth match of the IPL 2024 as Faf du Plessis and Co. go up against the 2022 champions Gujarat Titans (GT) on Saturday, May 4. However, it is a well-known fact that RCB could not achieve much success on their home turf. The fact that their dream run in the 2016 season ended in heartbreak at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Chinnaswamy in the final would justify the previous statement.

RCB, who have never won a title despite playing since the league’s inception, are having another woeful outing this time around. They are currently at the bottom of the points table with three wins from 10 matches. Meanwhile, they are coming on the back of two straight wins and will aim to carry on the momentum against GT.
