An arrest warrant was issued against former India batter Robin Uthappa by Shadakshara Gopal Reddy, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner – II and Recovery Officer, KR Puram, in Bengaluru. There have been allegations of Provident Fund (PF) fraud on the former India cricketer.
Uthappa, who managed a private company named Centuries Lifestyle Brand Private Limited, is accused of deducting PF contributions from employees’ salaries but failing to deposit the funds into their accounts. The alleged fraud amounts to a substantial INR 23.36 lakh.
As per India.com, in a letter dated December 4, Commissioner Reddy directed the police to take action on the basis of the released arrest warrant against the cricketer. However, the warrant was returned to the PF office as Uthappa is believed to have changed his residence. Authorities are now investigating further to locate the cricketer and ensure compliance with the law. According to the order, the warrant will be void if Uthappa settles the pending amount.
