Earlier it was reported that if KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer will not get fit ahead of the Asia Cup, they might not get a place in the ODI World Cup as well. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) might be looking for their potential replacements in the upcoming event. If the duo made a comeback, though, the team management is doubtful about their performances.
Bumrah to lead Team India on Ireland tour, Pant continues his rehab at NCA
Meanwhile, India receives a massive boost as speedster Jasprit Bumrah is set to make his comeback, as he was named in India’s three-match away T20I series against Ireland which will begin on August 18. The star pacer was sidelined for almost a year, owing to a lower-back injury.
Rishabh Pant has been recovering at the National Cricket Academy following a freak car accident in December 2022. He has been showing significant progress after undergoing serious medical care. In addition, he will not be able to make a comeback and play competitive cricket anytime soon. The 25-year-old, recently, wished the NCA batting coach, Sitanshu Kotak, on his 50th birthday on August 12, thanking him for looking after him in the last few months.
