In order to prepare well for the World Test Championship finale against Australia, Indian players in the form of Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin, Umesh Yadav, and Mohammed Siraj among many others are set to leave for England on Tuesday, May 23. Other players including skipper Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Ajinkya Rahane, Shubman Gill and Mohammed Shami among many others will leave India after the competition of the ongoing IPL 2023. Even though the date is not finalised but it is expected to be at the end of May.

Notably, Virat Kohli and Mohammed Siraj’s team Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered a six-wicket defeat at the hands of Gujarat Titans to bow out of the cash-rich league on May 21. In just two days’ time, the cricketers will now leave for England in order to get accustomed to the conditions and get much-needed preparation time. Meanwhile, along with the main players, Mukesh Kumar, who has been named among the reserves will be flying alongside Akash Deep, Aniket Choudhury and Yarra Prithviraj, who have been selected as the net bowlers of team India.

India’s red-ball maestro Cheteshwar Pujara is already in England and has been playing some brilliant cricket in the ongoing County Championship Division 2. He is also leading Sussex this season but will leave the tournament midway to join the national team later in the week.

Pacers Umesh Yadav and Jaydev Unadkat declared fit and will travel to England

Meanwhile, as per a report from Sportstar, both Umesh Yadav and Jaydev Unadkat are fit enough to travel to England and play in the finals. Notably, both the pacers were suffering from their respective injuries as Unadkat was ruled out of the tournament while Umesh didn’t feature for KKR in the second half of the tournament. However, they are now declared fit and will be travelling to England on Tuesday.

Significantly, the WTC final will begin on June 7, at the Oval, in London. Australia stars Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne have already reached England as they are currently playing in the County Championship while other members of the team are expected to join soon.
